Replace your filters, correctly.
Regular filter replacement is an important part of maintaining water flow, filtration performance and the operating condition of your Pristine system.
This guide covers the replacement sequence for the Pristine Elite 3 whole-home system and servicing guidance for the Pristine Pure 6 reverse osmosis system.
Water supply and pressure must be safely isolated before opening a housing.
Each cartridge has a specific position within the filtration sequence.
Restore water gradually, flush the system and complete a final leak inspection.
Service with care.
Before servicing either system, confirm the correct replacement cartridges are available and familiarise yourself with the filtration stages and system configuration.
Isolate the water
Do not open any filtration housing while the system remains under water pressure.
Confirm the filters
Check that each replacement cartridge corresponds with the correct filtration stage before opening the system.
Remove packaging
All protective plastic and packaging must be removed from replacement cartridges before installation.
Pristine systems should be serviced in accordance with the manufacturer instructions and applicable warranty requirements. Where required, have servicing completed by a suitably licensed plumber.
Whole-home filter replacement.
The Elite 3 uses three separate filtration stages. Always confirm cartridge position before returning the system to normal operation.
The first filtration stage captures incoming particulate material and sediment.
Installed as the second filtration stage within the Elite 3 filtration sequence.
Installed as the final cartridge within the Elite 3 whole-home filtration sequence.
Elite 3 step by step.
Fully isolate and depressurise the system before attempting to remove any filter housing.
Isolate the water supply to the Pristine Elite filtration system.
Open a downstream tap and release the remaining pressure using the pressure-release valve or pressure-release screw fitted to your system.
Use the supplied housing wrench to carefully unscrew the applicable filter housing and remove the existing cartridge.
Clean and rinse the inside of the housing using warm water and mild soap where required. Rinse thoroughly before reinstalling.
Check the housing O-ring for wear, damage or deformation. Replace if necessary and apply an appropriate food-grade lubricant before reassembly.
Remove all protective plastic wrapping and packaging from the new replacement filter.
Place each replacement cartridge into its correct filtration stage before reassembling the housing.
Hold the housing upright and screw it carefully back onto the housing cap by hand until secure.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTENGradually reopen the water supply so trapped air can escape from the system.
Allow water to flush through the system while checking the housings, fittings and connections.
Once flushing is complete, close the downstream tap and perform a final inspection for leaks.
Confirm the system is operating normally and all filtration housings remain dry and secure.
Close the system inlet and outlet isolation valves, then open the bypass valve.
When returning the system to normal operation, close the bypass valve and slowly reopen the inlet and outlet valves.
Reverse osmosis servicing.
The Pristine Pure uses three additional filtration stages: the RO membrane, post-carbon filter and mineralising stage. These operate on different servicing intervals.
Replacing the RO membrane.
The membrane sits inside the RO membrane housing. Confirm its direction and sealing rings before closing the housing.
Turn off the feed-water supply before disconnecting tubing or opening the RO membrane housing.
Remove the water-in tube from the fast connector on the RO membrane housing cover.
Use the appropriate housing wrench to carefully open the RO membrane housing.
Remove the existing membrane from the housing and prepare the new membrane for installation.
Confirm the replacement membrane is facing the correct direction and check that the two O-rings are correctly positioned on the applicable end.
Insert the membrane into the housing carefully. Do not force the membrane into position.
Secure the membrane housing cover and reconnect the water-in tube fully into the fast connector.
Restore the system carefully, flush as required and inspect the membrane housing and all connections for leaks.
Post-carbon & mineralising filters.
These filters form the final stages of the Pure 6. Maintain the original filtration sequence and tubing direction when they are replaced.
Replace approximately every 12–18 months, depending on water conditions and usage.

Pure 6 connection layouts may vary between supplied system versions. If your tubing, cartridge orientation or fittings differ from the applicable Pristine guide, stop before disconnecting components and contact Pristine for guidance.
Recommission before use.
Do not consider a filter change complete until water has been restored, the system has been flushed and every opened connection has been checked for leakage.
Gradual repressurisation allows trapped air to escape and reduces unnecessary stress on housings and fittings.
Flush replacement filtration media before returning the system to normal drinking-water use.
Check opened housings, tubing, fittings and connections carefully for any sign of leakage.
Confirm expected water flow and system operation before leaving the system unattended.
Before you open the housing.
The Elite 3 filtration sequence is Stage 1 PP Sediment, Stage 2 Carbon & KDF and Stage 3 Carbon & FOF. Each replacement cartridge should be returned to its correct filtration stage.
The servicing guide lists the Stage 1 PP Sediment cartridge at approximately 6–12 months. Actual servicing requirements can vary with incoming water conditions and household usage.
The Carbon & KDF and Carbon & FOF stages are listed at approximately 12–18 months in the Pristine servicing guide.
Yes. The water supply should be shut off, a downstream tap opened and remaining pressure released using the pressure-release valve or pressure-release screw before the housing is opened.
Inspect the O-ring for wear, damage or deformation. Replace it where necessary and apply a suitable food-grade lubricant before reassembly.
The Pristine Pure 6 servicing guide lists the Stage 4 RO membrane at approximately 24–36 months. Water quality and system usage may affect the actual interval.
Stage 5 Post Carbon T33 and Stage 6 Mineralising are both listed at approximately 12–18 months.
Restore the water supply carefully, flush the system and inspect all housings, fittings, tubing and connections that were disturbed during servicing for leakage before returning the system to normal use.
